Super Hornet successfully tests the StormBreaker guided bomb

Recently, the U.S. Navy successfully launched a StormBreaker guided bomb for the first time from an F/A-18 Super Hornet. In addition to the F-15 Strike Eagle, this makes the Super Hornet the second fighter to carry this advanced ordinance.

The StormBreaker is the most capable smart bomb out there thanks to an advanced millimeter wave radar seeker combined with an infrared sensor. This allows the smart bomb to not only hit designated targets but also track moving targets without human assistance, even in bad weather, through smoke, or in total darkness.

This new guided bomb is tremendously powerful and incredibly smart, a total game changer on the battlefield. It is exactly what America needs to maintain our national security and keep our allies safe from global threats.
