The P-8 is the world’s best sub hunter, and the global fleet is once again growing.
Known as the Poseidon, the P-8 is a multi-mission aircraft with no peer, patrolling the seas, searching for submarines, gathering intelligence and, if needed, conducting search and rescue operations.
Roughly 200 of the Washington-made P-8s are in service or soon to be with the U.S. Navy and its allies, ranging from New Zealand to Norway.
The Navy has just signed a contract for seven additional Poseidons, adding more “eyes and ears” to the world’s skies and oceans.
