To achieve global air superiority, the U.S. needs a diverse fleet of fighter jets that bring different capabilities to the table. That includes the next-generation F-15 Eagle II.
In its fiscal year 2023 budget request, the Air Force calls for cutting 64 F-15 Eagle II jets – from 144 to only 80. That would limit the number of F-15/D squadrons that could be replaced. The Air National Guard is concerned that this new request will not be enough to replace their aging F-15 fleet.
In order to successfully meet emerging and continuous foreign threats, the F-15 Eagle II must be included in the U.S. fighter fleet.
