NASA Reveals an Updated X-66 Design Concept

NASA released a new image of the X-66, an experimental aircraft being built through their sustainable flight demonstrator project.

The X-66, based on a modified MD-90 platform, features a unique design with diagonal struts called the Transonic Truss-Braced Wing (TTBW) concept.

This design, along with advancements in propulsion and systems architecture, could potentially reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Production of the aircraft modifications are underway to prepare the X-66 for its initial flight. The project aims to inspire the future of flight and contribute to the development of sustainable single-aisle aircraft for passenger airlines.
