Holiday Air Travel: Behind the Scenes

Ticket, check. Bag, check. Presents, check. Nothing else to worry about for holiday travel then.

Exactly. And that’s because of a fleet of planes criss-crossing the country delivering millions of passengers efficiently and reliably. Some of the planes can make as many as eight flights in a single day, and long-haul aircraft spend more time in the air than on the ground.

But it’s not just the airplanes doing the work. Thousands of people are on the clock, from pilots and flight attendants, to ground crew stocking and cleaning the planes on their turns, to people you can’t see, like air traffic control and airline operations staff.

They all play a part ensuring you can sit back, relax, and enjoy your flight.
