Thank you for your support for the Export-Import Bank, that brings jobs to North Carolina. Ex-Im levels the playing field for North Carolina workers to compete with heavily-subsidized foreign companies. It is a critical tool to strengthen our economy and grow American jobs.

In the past five years, the Ex-Im Bank supported nearly $2 billion in exports and more than 10,000 jobs from 152 North Carolina businesses, including 122 small businesses. Workers at these companies manufacture heavy machinery, support transportation infrastructure projects, and refine chemicals, metals, ore, and minerals.

Thanks to export financing provided by Ex-Im, those jobs stay in North Carolina. As you know, Ex-Im secures credit for overseas customers to buy goods from American businesses. With 95 percent of the world’s customers located outside our borders, it is a vital tool that keeps jobs in the U.S. and helps American businesses compete.

Unfortunately, North Carolina workers are competing with one hand behind our back. The U.S. Senate continues to stall President Trump’s nominees to run the bank. Without a quorum on its Board of Directors, Ex-Im cannot approve transactions over $10 million.
