A Mesa City Council vote scheduled for June 18th could threaten Boeing’s ability to test military helicopters in Mesa.
The proposal would re-zone land in the flight test path and allow for construction of residential housing near the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. For 36 years, the military has relied on Boeing helicopters built in Mesa to protect our troops.
You can take action today by sending a letter to the Mesa City Council to tell them how important this issue is to you.
Mesa is vitally important to Boeing and the U.S. military -- Boeing has developed, manufactured, tested and certified military helicopters and aircraft in Mesa since 1982.
As Mesa grew, so did Boeing’s commitment.
- 3,700 jobs
- 390 suppliers across Arizona
- 19,000 volunteer hours in 2017
- $2 million charitable donations in 2017
Now, Boeing’s ability to conduct flight testing is being impacted by development in Mesa’s thriving community.
The Mesa City Council needs to hear from you. Let’s stand together to maintain the East Valley aerospace/aviation sector and protect our flight testing in order to continue to benefit Mesa’s economy and deliver aircraft critical to our military.
