Tour the new F-15EX Eagle II

History is being made in Michigan. For the first time, Selfridge Air National Guard Base is preparing to receive the F-15EX Eagle II – the newest iteration of the F-15 fighter jet. It is the first time the base will receive a brand-new fighter aircraft assigned directly to its fleet.

In the video below, former Air Force test pilot Jason Dotter showcases the new Eagle and explains its impressive upgrades, including advanced radar, a touchscreen cockpit, fly-by-wire controls, and electronic warfare defenses. The F-15EX can also exceed Mach 2 and carry up to 12 air-to-air missiles.

“If I want to go to war, I want to be in this because the payload that I can carry,” Dotter said. “The length of time I can carry that payload, which equates to how far I can carry it, the amount of sensors I can put on the jet and the survivability of the jet, all the redundant systems. That combination is unmatched.”
